Stuffed Mushrooms & Las Vegas

So, at my Halloween stellar sis-in-law, Emilee brought these intensely good stuffed mushrooms. I am a huge fan of mushrooms (not the naughty kind) and I knew I had to make an entire batch just for me. I am taking the liberty of posting the instructions...with all due credit to Emilee, the great one, I will forever be in her debt.
Here's the low down...

You will need all of the above items... Garlic Salt, 2 packages of mushrooms (though it only shows one), green onions, Jimmy Dean sausage roll, and a pack of cream cheese.

Cook the sausage

In a bowl, whip the cream cheese, a tad bit of milk, and a few good shakes of garlic salt to taste.

Have your best looking child mix this up while you stir the sausage again.

Chop up your green onions into small pieces...however many you like. I don't like a, I just did a few.

Stir into your cream cheese mixture...

Next, add the cooked sausage. I ended up only using about 3/4 of the sausage.

Wash your mushrooms, please.

Break the stems off the mushrooms and put them on a sheet pan.

Put a small spoonful of mixture inside the hole and overflowing out...

Seriously, this is the hardest part. Carefully, ever so SLOWLY....carry the pan to the oven. Your mushrooms will want to tip over, roll around, and do the hanky panky. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes.

When they come out they should look like barf. But, they will taste like heaven. I truly ate the whole pan myself in two days.

Perfect snack/meal for all fellow low-carbers and mushroom loving mongrels.

And now for our latest adventure...Thanksgiving in Vegas. Here we are at the Valley of Fire. It was an awesome place that Marc and Bonnie took us. Prime spot for pictures!

Caden, Shane, and cousin Greg just offending the liberals with their fake guns that look real.

Great Popou Manolis

Yia -Yia

Sorry, he's mine.

But, you can have him...

Or him.... (just two of the single men in my life, soon to be permanant fixtures on my sidebar, courtesy of Mariel's dating service).

Deer Legs & Hair Balls

Attention: Please pause music to watch short videos.
Warning: This post will highly offend PETA-pants members and their sympathizers.
Disclaimer: Not one part of this deer went to waste.

So, Dan took Caden hunting this year...along with his Dad and brothers. Brother Dave got his first little buck!

Here's Rich giving a science lesson about the heart and liver to Shane & Audrey. Soon after he does an impressive and disgusting demonstration of eating raw internal deer organs.

Audrey is captivated.

I never thought my mouth would utter the words, "Deer legs are not allowed in the house!" But, I did. Caden and Shane came running in the house with their deer leg/weapons thinking they were the greatest thing ever. Watch Shane in action below...

We like dead deer, but even more we like alive deer. It's awesome to see a few of them in our yard nearly every day! The kids get so excited and paste their faces against the windows until they leave. Take note of the impressive buck!

Finally, my hair balls. Child birth = hair balls. They are frightening and excessive in amount. If they don't stop soon I will seriously be bald. Here is my hair ball from just one shower! Times this by every day.....scary!

The hair ball is larger than it appears.

Ghoulish Gathering...

We had an awesome Halloween this year! We waited for an hour for LOTS of candy from the Mafia Man. We went to Hogwarts, a spook alley, had lots of people over for grub, and stayed up late watching "Watcher in the Woods"! We've been eating leftover carmel corn, potato soup, and eclairs for days! Can't complain about that...

Dan and I were ghosts, Audrey was Tinkerbelle, Isabelle was a Tootsie Roll, Shane a Ninja Turtle, and Caden was the Grim Reaper who was sick of wearing his mask.

Try and guess the guests!

You should have come!
