Itching and Itching to Know...

WHAT BIT ME and AM I GOING TO DIE?

So, we're getting are yard done......see the new grass? I can't stop smiling cause I LOVE IT! Anyway, I've been tromping around the yard lots lately. Mostly in flip-flops through lots and lots of weeds.

To the point...something bit my foot and now i have this purplish bite thing with a raised, bumpy itchy line coming off of it. It seriously itches like a mother. I haven't slept well since it happened because I'm to itchy to relax! aghh!

Is it a big deal? It hasn't gotten worse, but hasn't gotten better either. I tell you what...it's a big deal trying to take a picture of your foot when you're about 8 months pregnant! K, the bright red little spot above my bite is just a freckly/mole type thing that got in the way of my itching. Now, it's all red...was brown.

I've been thinking about all the places I may have been bit and I thought of my boots. They have been sitting on the front porch for about a month and a few days ago I put my bare feet in them to walk across the yard. I even said, "I hope there isn't a spider in these..." Hmm...

It sure looks dark in there...

Speechless...

So, sometimes I just have nothing to say...fancy that. But, since I don't want people to stop reading this, here is some random junk pulled from my brain.

1. This strange goobery-man is one of my favorite things right now. It's a MOBI rechargeable night-light for kids. They are wonderful! They plug in and have 2 different light settings. Then if your kid feels the need to wander in the dark, they simply pull out the charger plug and off they go. It stays lit without the cord for up to 10 hours! Then they just plug it back in to recharge it. Wonderful. Now, I don't have to leave the hall light on for my kids anymore....plus have 3 night lights in their room. They love these "light buddies".

2. Speaking of buying things on Amazon.com...I have a great way to entertain kids for a little while and get them excited about earning money. My boys love when I let them go on Amazon.com and create their WISH LIST. They are in instant heaven. You just go on there, set up a wish list in their name and then go to the toy area. They can scroll through pages and pages of toys. Then when they love something it goes in their "wish list". Ofcourse, you have to teach them how to get it to their wishlist. But, if my unfocused 3 year old can do it, I'm sure yours can! Then I'll print and staple it for them. They keep it on their beds, drool over toys, and decide what they want to earn money for. I will usually have them pick the thing they want the very most, and we will hang a picture of it up in the kitchen. Every week, if they do their jobs, they get an allowance that they can deduct from the price of their favorite thing. That way...they don't get 5 bucks every week and buy another peace of crap toy that they only bought cause there was a hole burning in their pocket. They are actually forced to save and get to feel the rewards of it.

3. I've mentioned the Lakeshore Learning Store plenty of times. But, one of my most favorite things that they sell is the Alphabet Tubs. They are perfect for helping your little one learn letters and sounds. Each tub comes with the cutest little trinkets that start with that letter. So, you can put lots of different games together......like mixing some of the trinkets from a few letters they are learning and they sort them to the right tub. I love it. I really enjoy teaching my kids and seeing them finally understand something!

4. T-ball. Last game, finally! Caden has so much fun and I love watching his serious, determined face as he runs the bases. But, I must say that it's nice to be done. One less commitment. These pictures are from today's game...

Shane was mad at me for making him sit on the grass. It bothered his legs. What a mean mom!

Audrey with straightened hair, sucker and squirt gun...

My Avacados Are Ripe!! Breakfast Fajitas... (Father's Day Breakfast...perhaps?)

The wait is over, my avacados are finally ripe! I love avacados! Have you ever had the fried avacados at Gardener Village? You dip them in spicy ranch...yum. Anyway, as promised...I am now ready to enlighten you on how to make breakfast fajitas, which I probably have once a week!

First off, you will need scrambled eggs, black beans, grated cheese, chopped avacado, sour cream, salsa, and tortillas.

Chop up your ripe avacado...

Scramble your eggs...

Spread sour cream on a tortilla...

Please excuse my head shadow...and then put some heated black beans and eggs on your tortilla.

Sprinkle some cheese & avacado on...

Pour some salsa in a Disney Princess bowl, and then scoop spoonfuls on top of fajita.

Fold and zap in microwave for 20 seconds or so to melt cheese and warm tortilla. And, ofcourse...serve with a smoothie. For a great smoothie...try strawberry yogurt, a big handful of frozen strawberries, a little milk, ice, and frozen mango. Yum.

And...here's my kids. I got the cutest thing at The Lakeshore Learning Store (see my link on the right). It's these magnetic numbers and fishing poles. My little Shane is working on recognizing his numbers so I had him fish for the one I called out. Caden is learning addition and subtraction, so he had to fish for the answer of the problem I gave him. Audrey just sucked on them all. It was fun!

Eight Years and Counting...

Ya know when you start thinking that you might have an itch but you know that it's all in your head? So you start itching everywhere and can't stop because you can't stop thinking about itching....or maybe it's just me. But, that has been me for this whole past year! Who's the punk that got me all paranoid about the "7 Year Itch"?? I would like to kick him really hard. Actually, his name is Lawrence A. Kurdek, Ph.D. What a dumb name. I have been scratching and scratching this itch that has never even been there just because I thought it was SUPPOSED to be! Luckily, Dan has been patient with all of my scratchy questions, such as: do you still love me? do you still think I'm pretty? are you SURE you still love me? are you SURE you still think I'm pretty? Obviously, my stellar husband said 'yes' to all and it seems we have been doing just great...despite the doom and gloom Lawrence A Kurdek, Ph.D hung over our heads. I'm so glad that cloud and curse is gone! Thank you Dan for 8 great years and putting up with my paranoia through this 7th!
In honor of making it to 8, I dug up 8 pictures of us. You've likely seen most of them. I won't make you sick (or jealous...:)) by blubbering about how great Dan is...just the pictures...
A couple years ago........we need a new one.

Hill Cumorah in New York...my most favorite trip ever!

Washington State...and Oregon trip.

Every 4th of July we hog the vollyball court in Huntsville. We play for hours!

Our yearly raft of the Snake River

We always have fun at the sand dunes! The kids love it too!

This past March, in Tennesee, visiting Dan's sister and touring all around

A trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado...

Grand Teton

I don't know. I just like this one cause Dan is hugging me while we watch our neice open presents...

So, we had a fun anniversary. We went and stayed in Provo so that we could hang out with my awesome brother, Noah and his wife. We don't get to see them much so it was cool. We got to stay in her parent's millions of dollar extra home and go swimming there. Dan tried sushi for the first time and didn't like it. No, I would never try it. I won't even inhale the smell of fish! But I will inhale the smell of Dan, well...most of his smells, all day long...for lots more years.
